This is a valuable tool for businesses that don’t have a web presence, and is a great starting point for getting online. For those that do have a website, it’s a nice way to generate traffic and get found more effectively.

How it works

Each business listing in Google Maps is in fact a giant ‘cluster’ of information that Google gathers from a few different places: Yellow Pages, for example, as well as other third-party providers. However, the basic information businesses submit through the Local Business Centre is the information that Goolge trusts the most. This means it will appear instead of information gathered from anywhere else. To make sure the information submitted is accurate, Google will verify it first by contacting you.
what to do next

First we’ll ask for payment ($150 inc GST paid in advance – money back guarantee). Then we’ll need your:

  • Business Name
  • Address
  • Telephone Numbers
  • Email
  • Website Address if you have one
  • Unique business description
  • Opening Hours
  • What type of payments you receive (eg invoice, cash.cheque, paypal etc…)
  • Any additional information like delivery areas, parking, specials, return policy (or anything else you’d like to add)
  • Your logo if you have one ( in jpeg format if possible)
  • YouTube Video links (don’t have any? talk to us about making a 3 minute promotional video for YouTube – a great way to extend your business profile).

To verify to Google that you are the business owner you’ll receive an automated phone call at the landline number you’ve listed for your business (or a pin number to your mobile). During this call, you’ll be given a unique PIN that can be entered into your Local Business Centre account. It’s important that someone is around to receive the call and pass the details on to us.
On completion we’ll provide you with the login details to view your account and to make any further changes.

What if you can already see your listing in google maps?

If your listing is already in Google Maps, letting us claim it through the Local Business Centre will give you full control over how your listing appears. In other words, once we verify that you are the business owner, the information that we submit will replace the information from third parties that already appears in Google Maps. You’ll be able to make your listing better with more useful information, as well as photos and video. Other users will no longer be able to edit your listing.
